Greetings from the North woods. What wonderful weather we have been having! The days are warm and the nights are cool. We finally received a shower this morning. It is very very dry!

Today (9-8-98) is the 8th anniversary of my husband's death. May he be resting in peace and tranquility. I know our family and friends miss him terribly. Although the golf tournament was cancelled we did raise 1300 dollars for Drummond High School Scholarship funds in his name! Thanks to all who donated and patronized the Barnes Trading Post that day.

I had the opportunity to go to the WI Dells last Saturday for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. There were 16 of us. It was very nice! Even being Labor day weekend, I hurried down on Sat and back early on Sunday. It is truly amazing that my Mom was able to see this day! She is such a fighter. Congrats!

Tuesday I had the opportunity to golf Big Fish in Hayward. What a lovely course! It is rated in the top ten in Wisconsin. I would definitely go there again.

Wednesday was a busy day. I golfed league in the morning, bowled in the afternoon and took my mother out for her birthday for dinner. Golf was ok , maybe practicing helps! Bowling wasn't to good although my handicap may help. Dinner in Iron River at Deep Lake Lodge was delicious.

Elliott is enjoying hitting the books. I do believe he likes to be around the other kids and the structure he receives.

Good luck bear hunters. I believe it is baiters this week. Get rid of those pesky critters!
