Greetings from Barnes. We received a pile of rain and we will take it. Everyone seemed to have a nice weekend at the Cranberry Fest or Apple Fest. Me--- I have never been to either. Maybe some day...I am not into crowds too much unless I am serving them. They people were plentiful. Any way you look at it people flock to northern Wisconsin for it's pristine beauty.

I was in Steven's Point for the 72nd annual Tavern League Convention this week. I cannot believe the strength and magnitude of our organization. We have over 2 million in assets. We have full time employed lobbyists lobbying all over the country for us. We are very strong. Oh and by the way we all like to have a good time. Thanks Steven's Point for hosting us this fall. It was a great convention.

Therefore being in Steven's Point I did not bowl. A bird told me we won 5-7 points. Losing the second game. That has been the practice almost every week we have lost the second game. What's up with that!

Boo hoo to the Packers, Da bears won! Queens won too since they didn't play!
Badgers lost too! I hope they all practiced hard this week. Come on Sconnie do better this week! Elliott is quite the salesman as he is collecting money for bowling for dollars for the Lions Club. He has done a great job this far. He still has another week left. We will be bowling next Saturday in Iron River. He also received his first report card this year and Mom was happy. It was a good one! Way to go Elliott!

Thanks to all who patronized the Barnes Trading Post or Wilderness Inn on Labor Day. I donate the days sale to Drummond High School Scholarships in memory of my late husband Steven Hough. I will be granting one thousand in monies this spring. Thanks and remember this for next Labor day. I cannot believe Steve has been gone 9 years already. Wow time flies!

To my staff---You guys/gals are the best! I appreciate everyone of you! Keep up the great work. Thanks to everyone that pitches in when needed.
