Only a few days
left and we can kiss August goodbye. The Holiday weekend is
upon us and many will be paying their last summer visit to the
Barnes Area. Summer is officially over. Then it becomes my
favorite time of year. I seem to love September and October.
The weather has been absolutely beautiful. Warm days and cool
nights. We received about an inch of rain this past week. We
needed it and we need more. Dance dance dance!
My brother and his wife Deb will be visiting for the holiday.
It will be very nice to see him. Our father's birthday is also
this week. Happy Birthday Pops.
Life has been hectic for most of us. There doesn't seem to be
enough time in the days. Business has be good! Who says the
Gas prices are hurting? Not in Barnes...yet!
Golf was fun this week of course! My paired up partner Nancy
Paulson and I took second in the weeks event at Forest Point
not to my avail. I was unable to make Hidden Greens as I had
meetings in Manitowoc for the League Leaders of the Tavern
League of Wisconsin. www.TLW.org Check it out sometime and see
how strong we really are.
A big get well to Susie from Burlington as she dislocated her
kneecap and has some fractures. I hope all goes well with the
orthopedic Doctor. What a way to mess up a girls night out!
She is awaiting the results from her MRI to see if she will
require surgery.
A big thank you to Rex's relatives from PA and Nebraska, we
received a nice care package and letter thanking us for our
compassion. Also to Dave and Ellen in Georgia, the pecans are
yummy! It is people like this that makes it all worth while.
Too many times in life it is all negative feedback. It sure is
nice to hear the positive. Thanks again for thinking of us
here at the Trading Post and Wilderness Inn. Love you all!
I am the new President of the Ashland Bayfield Tavern League.
If any bar owners don't belong and would like to , please
contact me! And for those who do and need assistance please
call as well.
Once again...I want to thank my staff for a job well done this
crazy busy week. We all stuck together and kicked it in. It is
nice to know I can count on each of you when I really need
you! Your part of the reason The Trading Post is what it is!
The safe-ride program has officially started in Barnes. Ask
the bartender if you would like a safe-ride home? For more
information just call me 715-795-2320. Our local Ashland
Bayfield County Tavern League will be hosting our fall
fundraiser at Valhalla Pub and Grub in Washburn. Let me know
if you are interested in helping out! It will be Oct 26 a
Packer bye week! Oh course who is thinking about the Packers
right now! Next week is there first regular season game. Go
Pack! The WI Badgers also play there first game on Sat. Go
Badgers! And of course Go Brewers! The Fred's love that one!
Finally, I hope everyone has a great safe Holiday weekend.
