WHAT HAPPENED
03/30/10 - 04/05/10
|
Check out the "Wilderness Inn" coupon below!!
Greetings from the hustle and bustle of beautiful dry dry
Barnes. We need rain desperately. The fire danger is very
high. This comes very early this year. Usually around
Memorial Day the DNR is red flagging the area for burning.
We have had the driest March ever. All the snow has been
gone for weeks. I believe all lakes are open. The golf
courses are all open, this is a unbelievable. I suppose we
will pay for this!
It wasn't a stellar week for either bowling or pool. We lost
all bowling games. I did get my average twice so
individually not a total bust. We are continuing our way to
the bottom. Boohoo! Now on to pool George Radar and I won
the empty 12 pack again. Both of us are trying to break that
record of the most empty 12 packs=which means we lost all
our games. Speaking of pool are 7th annual 9 ball pool
tournament will be held May 8, 2010 at the Trading Post. For
more information call me 795-2320 or Ken Lowery 795-2005.
Thanks to all who supported the Pub run. It was a success. A
few items need to be ironed out but all in all a success. It
sure helped with business this winter.
Last week was spent in Eau Claire for the Tavern League of
Wisconsin. We have some serious issues coming up. MADD wants
interlocks on all vehicles. Which means you would have to
blow into a device and your car won't start if there is a
trace of alcohol. What's next? We need to end all of this
nonsense. We will be getting and new Governor. We definitely
need a change. Also Gary Sherman our 73rd district assembly
person was appointed and new position. So we will have to
look at our local races as well. If you do not belong to the
WI Tavern League you should. Contact me or go to www.tlw.org
for more information. We are a strong organization for the
rights of small businesses. Get involved. Don't forget to
vote on Tuesday April 6, 2010.
Elliott continues with his drum lessons from Mr. Lane the
band instructor at Drummond High school. Rock on. Elliott
has signed up for Little League and will be on the Grandview
team. Now the running begins!
A big warm Happy Easter to everyone. I hope you enjoy the
weekend.
My condolences to the Vandelist Family as Warren passed away
last week. Warren use to own the Decoy in Barnes. Also to
the Oberholtzer family on the passing of Harold (BIm). My
sincere condolences to the families.
We have started golfing we went out once. It sure is fun
getting back to golf.
